I have seen a few run on smart phones, it's being experimented with for sure.
I have read about them on fsxnet, I'm pretty sure someone ran Mystic on a smartphone off and on. I run it on several Raspberry Pis and have since 2014
or so. The Pi is ARM based, but Mystic is setup for x86, Mac, & ARM. It's still being developed and has servers like syncronet for most stuff. You'll find: http://www.mysticbbs.com/ is the main source and the wiki is at: http://wiki.mysticbbs.com/doku.php
I'm at bcw142.zapto.org (all standard ports) so 80 for http. That one is on
a raspberry Pi under Raspbian Linux.

Mystic is interesting ot me, but I really love coding in JS for Synchronet, so I don't think I'll be switching.

I know folks have run Sync on Raspbery Pis and other devices and like I said in a previous post, I have managed to make the changes that allow it to compile on the Mac. the main issue for me right now is the lack of dosemu support on the Mac. If I were to move the BBS to a Mac, I'd still want to be able to run DOS games.

DOSBox should run on Mac and is known to work with some effort even on a Pi.
I know Mystic can use it, so Synchronet must be able to as well. Right now Mystic does MPL (Pascal like) and Python. They should be able to work with JS to do stuff. Still you know Synchronet so it's likely best to stay with that as it can be as feature rich as Mystic.
    Try DOSBox on Mac.
