    Hi there guys,

I'm doing a report on Net Neutrality and possible solutions. One of them was to further investigate new software and methods for re-creating the bbs scene but on Smartphones. I was wondering if anyone was aware of any board software that can be run on Android or that is geared towards smartphone dial-up.

    Let me know.

Yikes, I dunno. Synchronet can be built on Windows and most unix/linux-type OSes. It supports dialup, but through a modem connected to a serial port, I believe. Definitely geared to being run on a desktop machine.

I don't think you'd want to run the BBS itself from a smartphone.

BBS systems are nothing more than collections built around a community - messaging, forums, etc. I can see a smartphone app for the messaging might be something to explore, but for us old-timers that takes away the "experience" of BBSing.
